Tips on How to Focus on Writing in a Busy and Noisy House
When it comes to finding the best gifts for writers, one of the things that can make your day more challenging is the distractions around the house. I have found a way to block out those noises and focus on my writing more attentively, so I am here to share with you some tips on writing that will help you focus more easily.

1. The one thing I noticed about writing at home is there are so many distractions outside my window I can not control. From loud birds, car horns, low flying airplanes, screaming kids playing next door, to the non-stop barking dogs. Pick up a writers noise machine and put on the thunderstorms or beach waves and those outside noises will disappear.

2. One of the things I realized right at the start was that if I wasn't comfortable, I was easily distracted when writing. I bought a cheap lumbar back support for my writer's chair and now i can sit still in comfort for hours and crank out dozens of pages at a time.

3. Of all the things in my office that help me to focus while writing, my little live Bonsai tree is my all-time favorite. When I need to focus on my writing, I stare at my tree, maybe give it a little trim, and I am in the zone. This tree starts off so small and each week you can trim the edges and sculpt in any way you like. Before you know it the tree has grown so big. The little pool of water keep the tree nourished even if you have to leave on a book tour for a week or more.

4. One thing that writers never seem to have enough of is time. When I find myself stuck or daydreaming, I take a quick glimpse at my writers clock and I get that gentle nudge to keep on working.

These simple tips to help you focus on writing work for me, and if you incorporate one or more into your daily routine you will certainly get more work done!
